Gifted with sweet and melodious voice ,Kavita started her initial music career under Pt. Pimpalkhare Guruji and Muhammad Hussain Khansaheb of Pune
Although a Commerce graduate ,she later on switched
over to music and passed M. A. Music with First Class.She
had an opportunity to study Dhrupad Gayaki under the guidance
of Ustad Sayiduddin Dagar.She had prosecuted for years ,a
rigorous training of classical and semi-classical under
guidance of Dr.Alka Deo Marulkar , a stalwart-singer of
Jaipur Gharana.She also received a systematic training of
Jaipur Gayaki under Smt.Maniktai Bhide, a prolific artist of
that gharana.
Kavita is B-High graded artist of AIR in both classical
and sugam sangeet categories and has so far featured in
number of musical programs of AIR Pune & Mumbai
Doordarshan to the satisfaction of appreciative listeners.
Of late she is studying intricacies and beauties of
Agra and Jaipur Gharanas under able guidance of the senior
maestro and Guru Pt.Babanrao Haldankar.Thus being fairly
acquainted with niceties and intricacies of jaipur and agra
Gharana,Kavita has developed a rare professional grooming and
enlarged the dimensions of the gayaki.Kavita has to her
credit many public performances and she has proved herself a
successful and full-fledged concert singer.

- Kavita did playback singing for a Marathi film “Bayo” in 2006.
- Kavita staged alongwith Sadashiv Amrapurkar in "Jyacha Tyacha Vithoba"
